Yuichi Higashionna

Yuichi Higashionna. (1951- )

Born and lives in Tokyo.
From the early 90s, Higashionna has been creating unique artworks using everyday items as the motives, such as net curtains, ribbons and flowery patterns, exposing discomfort and creepiness hidden among the familiarity, cute and prettiness.
Representative artworks include Chandelier series using circular shape florescent light peculiar to Japan and FL (Flower) series using spray-painted artificial flowers and laces.
