Giorgos Divaris was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 1956.

He studied Fine Arts at the Athens School of Fine Arts from 1984 to 1989. He continued his studies for another year at the School of Philosophy (master’s level) at the Aristotle University of Thessalonica.

He is associate professor in the School of Visual and Applied Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Aristotle University of Thessalonica. He teaches painting (1990 – present). He is also an visual artist, and has exhibited mainly in Athens and Thessalonica. One of his most recent installations, "Arrogance / Looking from above 2", was shown in April of 2009 at Biennale:2 in Thessalonica.
